Fortunately, modeling and whatever other Kardashians live off contributes so much more to our lives!

This dude is a decent actor, but he doesn’t know yet that he will get old and his youthful look will fade.

  3. Infamous-Zebra-359 on

He’s been insufferable for years why is this the first time people are noticing

  4. PrestigiousWedding36 on

He should be under fire for his comments about child free people. He thinks that child free people are sad.

  5. I mean he is dating a Kartrashian trash. I don’t get what people expected from him. He is at the lowest gutter level.

  6. Yet another self-important chud who thinks that the only thing that matters is what he does. Good riddance.

I tried to watch marty supreme, but it jist felt like he was playing himself. So douchey

  8. I think it sounded funny in his head but it absolutely was bone headed to say.

  9. No he isn’t. No one cares. Just people trying to get traction for their articles.

You can tell who someone is by who they surround themselves with. I don’t know why anyone would expect anything different.

Idk why but I have a feeling this guy gonna be the next Jared Leto.

Eh, kid got his foot in his mouth and made an offhand remark. Even if those are his sentiments at least he had the self-awareness to immediately call himself out on it. We all stay stupid shit in the moment, only difference was that he had an audience and cameras for it.

He should go back to being French and quiet. He’s overplaying his hand.

  14. Look, I don’t love T Cham as a personality though I think he’s pretty talented but this is really a dumb thing to get mad at him for. He’s not saying Ballet and Opera are bad art forms or that people should stop going but he is stating a fact that interest in them has certainly faded and is basically propped up by an aristocratic interest. When the opera season begins, it’s a fucking who’s who of older socialites attending. Young people aren’t racing in droves to see the opera. It’s just a fact. The Opera and Ballet will continue onwards which is wonderful but without old money fundraising, they’d certainly have a hard time existing.

It’s his opinion which he is entitled to. People need to get a life.

Sometimes I wonder if people are that hard on their friends and personal acquaintances to just go around calling people trash and shit for benign, slightly out of pocket comments lmao. This is nothing.

He very rightly pointed out that ballet and opera are culturally irrelevant nowadays, and he hopes that the same thing won’t happen to movies.

I know that Redditors randomly decided to hate the guy one day, but there’s nothing wrong about what he said. He even went on to say that he respects what artists in those fields do right after saying that.

  18. It baffles me that people have always had this weird lofty version of Timotheé Chalamet in their heads and then they’re surprised he’s just an average bro who likes hot girls and playing video games.

I STG this is just nominative determinism at play. Nobody is surprised when Chet Hanks says or does something stupid. Timotheé is just Chet Hanks with a talent for acting and a French name. 😆

Everyone in the comments pretending they’ve ever gone to any opera or ballet performance, or even care.

He’s right. Opera and ballet doesn’t sell like it used to, and it’s become a niche thing.

  20. BromaEmpire on

I feel like the amount of outrage this has generated exceeds the amount of people who are actually going to see a ballet and opera

  21. youcouldbeayak on

I’m not a big fan of him but this quote will be forgotten in a week

  22. archivedpear on

like him or not but this whole drama is wildly mischaracterizing what he said. he was talking about how he hopes film doesn’t end up like ballet and opera where their cultural relevance and general audience has declined. he was simply talking about how ballet and opera USED to be this much larger thing where now the general public have moved away from it and less people go to shows

  23. On the upside, his comment really got me thinking about how important the performing arts are to me. I’m literally going to the ballet tonight because Timmy said this.

What else could he make me do???

  24. oh_please_god_no on

It wasn’t tasteless. People didn’t read what he said. This is a non-story.

  25. Enough_Passage7926 on

oh no! Someone disparaged an art form that only the rich can afford to support!

  26. “I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though like no one cares about this anymore.’ All respect to all the ballet and opera people out there,” he continued.
After the crowd responded with laughter, Chalamet quipped, “I just lost 14 cents in viewership. I just took shots for no reason.”

Not eloquently stated, but not an invalid observation

  27. I’m not going to pretend to be offended by this. Everyone has had a bad opinion about something. Compared to what’s going on in the world today, this doesn’t rate highly.

  28. theeulessbusta on

Where’s the lie? I love ballet and opera, but in America it appears that it’s being better preserved than our own art— movies, Jazz, and musical theatre.

  29. purplebrown_updown on

I mean he isn’t wrong. Just don’t say that if you’re in the arts

  30. Expensive_Alarm_1068 on

Why does his opinion about anything even matter? His taste seems to lend itself to Kardashian-like.

We are currently living through the backlash of all this pissing and whining about non-events
