Das Fiasko mit den großen Waffengeschäften unserer Armee wird an allen Fronten immer schlimmer.
Heute gab der Bundesrat bekannt, dass nur 30 statt 36 F-35-Kampfflugzeuge gekauft werden – und der Preis dennoch um 400 Millionen höher sein wird "Festpreis" das wurde für 36 Jets versprochen.
(Und dies beinhaltet noch nicht die zusätzlichen steigenden Kosten für Infrastruktur, Wartung und Munition, die sie verursachen "vergessen" zu bestellen und noch viele weitere schlechte Nachrichten, die sicherlich in der Zukunft kommen werden.)
Jetzt scheitern sie also in beide Richtungen: Sie überschreiten die Kostenobergrenze, die sie unter keinen Umständen überschreiten wollten UND wir bekommen NOCH IMMER weniger Produkte geliefert …
Ein ähnliches Debakel passiert mit der bodengestützten Luftverteidigung:
Sie haben sicherlich gehört, dass sich das Patriot-System (dessen Auslieferung für 2026 geplant war!) nun um eine Woche verzögert hat "unbekannt" Zeit aber "mindestens fünf Jahre".
Doch die Amerikaner liefern nicht nur die (übrigens teilweise bereits bezahlten) Waffen nicht aus, sie erhöhen auch den Preis.
Nun soll das System statt 2 Milliarden mindestens 3 Milliarden kosten. Eine satte Steigerung um 50 %. Wir können es wahrscheinlich als a betrachten "Verspätungsgebühr"… Sie verspätet liefern und Wir die Gebühr bezahlen…
Ach ja… und als ob das noch nicht genug wäre: Weil die Patriots nicht ausgeliefert sind, wollen sie jetzt einen kaufen zusätzlich bodengestütztes Luftverteidigungssystem. Denn warum nicht organisieren? ein anderer Waffengeschäft, nachdem sie mit jedem einzelnen der bereits genehmigten Geschäfte, die sie immer noch nicht rückgängig machen wollen, grotesk gescheitert sind.
Unnötig zu erwähnen, dass die zentristischen und rechten Politiker, die das Land in diesen absehbaren Clusterfuck geführt haben, jetzt die Dreistigkeit haben, in Interviews zu gehen und gleichzeitig herumzujammern "Warum müssen wir mehr Geld bezahlen?" Und "Warum haben wir nicht mehr Geld?" sowie "Warum haben wir nicht mehr Arme?". Nun, raten Sie mal. Das liegt daran, dass Sie gelogen haben, um zwielichtige Geschäfte zu genehmigen, und jetzt so tun, als wäre alles eine Überraschung.

welp.. Mirage Scandal 2 finally arrived
The price went up in CHF but the CHF is worth way more USD than when the deal was signed. Heads need to roll, this is unacceptable
I honestly thought it couldn’t get worse when news broke about how they didn’t factor in the cost of infrastructure.
Well… We’re dumb enough to pay anyway. We always vote for or against something without even knowing the total cost or how something is done. Tell me that we would have voted for new jets if we knew the additional cost, please, I need to hear it. Because then I know we are stupid, instead of pushovers.
We could just make those deals with our reliable, direct, powerful, neighbor.
But at least we can own the *Wälsche*! /s

Meanwhile the Iran conflict clearly shows (again!) what the Ukraine war shows for years.
If you don’t have a cheap mass produced Drones for both attacking and defending, you will loose the next war. On top of that one needs top noch battlefield communication.
We lack both.
But hey, lets invest 10 Milliarden CHF in to F35 that will or will not work according to our great Leader form the East.
Two billion? Yeah, that’s roughly one year of sustaining SRG. And we do that every year.
Its what you get when you have terrible deal makers and a terrible trade partner (the USA). We should have sticked with European partners.

The delay of patriots is understandable, considering a lot of them just got used up in the Middle East. Ukraine needs more of them as well and the US military wants a reserve in the case they need them in the Pacific region. In comparison Switzerland is a low priority concern, so a „Abschreibung“ is probably the most realistic scenario, and we should be satisfied with a bunch of untested French stuff. Sigh.
„Good“ thing is that 30 or 36 jets makes very little difference for Switzerland
