It’s really crazy to see the full circle we’ve come over carneys first year in office. The whole election cycle was about Trump and the US. How PP would sell us to America. Fast forward to today where we are literally publicly supporting the US as they engage in illegal unprovoked warfare. And people seem fine with that. The turnaround has been kinda wild it’s like people don’t really care about Trump anymore. If they’re gonna make an enemy of the whole world I would really rather not openly stand with them.
The important thing is that we avoid war. Canada doesn’t want to be involved in that.

Way to completely disregard all the nuance of the conversation.
Good because it’s a just fight and he knows it. No western country including gulf countries want anything more than state sponsored terrorism to dry up.
We should be pouring resources into the defence of Canada’s sovereignty, building better infrastructure, boosting economy, not getting into another war to support a nation that threatens our sovereignty.
Edit – I actually voted for Carney and like him quite a bit. Comments below show me that extreme left is the same as extreme right. Tone down the defensiveness, it’s not helpful.
I think primacy is to worry about our future and relationship with the us need to make the right noises esp when our existence is threated we nsut be care ful and calibrated.
I feel like most analysis of Carney’s statements ignore the strong anti-regime movement within Canada. It’s all been focused on whether he’s throwing Trump a bone or whether he’s Israel’s lackey, but did we not see like 300 thousand people protesting the regime in the streets of Toronto a couple weeks back? He has as many domestic reasons for taking a strong stance against the regime as he does foreign ones.
