I still can’t we got combat footage of sub using a torpedo to take a Iraian warship

  2. It is not the first torpedo kill since WW2, the HMS Conqueror sank the ARA General Belgrano in 1982.

This is just sad. I get it that they’re in a state of war but that ship obviously is in a non aggressive posture. Capturing it could’ve been a better option.

  4. The way the Iraninans were massed at the back of the ship and got yeeted 80m up is hilarious.

The South Koreans lost a corvette in 2010 to a North Korean torpedo. I recall USN and RoKAF ASW Exercises the following week – with live torpedoes no doubt.

The back of the ship was full of crew on deck and the torpedo detonated just beneath. They where blasted into the sky. Poor souls man.

  7. Great footage and thanks for posting. But it’s NOT the first torpedo kill since WWII

It’s the first *US* torpedo kill since WWII.

The first torpedo kill since WWII was by HMS Conquerer against the Argentine Navy’s General Belgrano in 1982 during the Falklands War.

IIRC, the second was performed by North Korea, when a mini sub launched a torpedo against the South Korean Navy’s Cheonan corvette in 2010.

Please have better sources of information than Pete Hegseth….

  8. Damn! This is the 50th post of this exact video! Impressive lack of awareness!

I just noticed you can see Iranian sailors close to the bow of the ship.

  10. In the original video I noticed the three sailors moving toward the bow of the ship after impact. Almost looks like they were considering jumping overboard in a panic. Crazy footage.

watching that Radome fall forward after the blast is hilarious. It’s like… fuck it, I’m out of here, abandon ship!

  12. What do you mean first sank not in combat? During ww2 uboats torpedoed thousands of merchant and supply ships

  13. This is just sad… over 87 servicemen wiped out, many of which are just fulfilling their mandatory military service and don’t support the current regime, didn’t stand a chance.

  14. In WW2 it was common, even standard practice, for German U-boat crews to assist survivors of torpedoed ships. They would provide food, water, basic medical care, compass bearings to the nearest land, and sometimes even radio for rescue on behalf of the victims.

Basically once an enemy ship was sunk, its crew transformed from “enemy” into “fellow seamen in distress”.

Was hoping the custom might have been revived here since clearly the Iranians were not a threat anymore but seems like the U.S. sub didn’t help the Iranians?

  15. I’m sure there was some other way rather than this torpedo out of the blue. They could have rolled up with a Destroyer at a safe distance and demanded they surrender first, at least give them a chance. Very sad day.
