    Putin can decree whatever. Most of those willing to fight already signed contracts. And they still need to equip them (even if minimally). It also pulls more men from the real economy.

    The more he does this, the worse it gets for Russia in the long run.

  3. Going to note that russia has around 30 million people in „military age“, aka 20-50 years old and only half of them is wht you consider fit for fight.
    Not that russia really have shown to care about that but let’s just pretend that, then it’s more than 15% of the fighting-capable part of the population that is part of russias army with this.

  4. Wishful thinking will not help. This must necessarily mean larger European armies and either boots on the ground in Ukraine or supporting an incredible scale of robotic warfare on the Ukrainian side.
