  1. The GOP doesn’t care about our veterans or soldiers. Republican politicians want American soldiers to go to war with Iran to appease Trump. And Trump called American veterans who suffered for us „Suckers and losers.“

  2. SavageGardner on

Its not his job to escort a protester out. Thats assault and he should be charged. Let the professionals (ACAB still) do their job.

  3. New_Alternative8711 on

Can’t wait for the senator to face the consequences. He’s goingnto face consequences right? Right?

  4. Romantic_Piscean on

He should be charged criminally and a civil suit should be filed as well. He’s not security, he’s not law enforcement, he cannot claim to be threatened, and he put hands on someone. That’s assault and battery, and my guess is there are attorneys on here who’d say that is aggravated given the injury.

The video of this is shocking. That soldier is a true American and I am grateful for his courage.

Edit: This hero is a Marine, not Army (soldier).

  6. Kooky-Nail7505 on

MAGA unconditionally loves this. Not a single one of them is on the side of the protester. They want to see more of this.

Why the fuck is he even involved?

    >

He was a Navy SEAL.[^([6])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-18oct24-6) He later attended Army [Ranger School](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy).

Ah, he’s one of THOSE vet bros. Fucking blue falcon.

ETA (I know its wiki, but): It gets better:

    >In 2015, a park ranger cited Sheehy for discharging a firearm in [Glacier National Park](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glacier_National_Park_(U.S.)).[^([6])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-18oct24-6)[^([8])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-8) Sheehy wrote in a statement, „while reloading our vehicle an improperly placed firearm kept in the vehicle for bear protection fell out and discharged into my right forearm.“[^([9])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-9) But in his 2023 memoir, he wrote that a bullet had lodged in his arm during a 2012 Afghanistan firefight.[^([10])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-10) Sheehy told [*The Washington Post*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Washington_Post) that he „made up the story about the gun going off to protect himself and his former platoonmates from facing a potential military investigation into an old bullet wound that he said he got in Afghanistan in 2012.“[^([11])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-:2-11)[^([12])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-NYT2nov24-12)[^([13])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-13)[^([6])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-18oct24-6) He said he did not report the incident at the time to protect his unit’s members because he suspected it was from friendly fire.[^([14])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-14)[^([15])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-15)[^([16])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy#cite_note-:3-16)

  8. The Senator should resign. And be charged. I’m quite certain he’ll be civily sued as well by the victim.

That was a completely unprovoked assault and battery.

He is not law enforcement personally.

His actions are a terribly negative statement on him.

  9. AsAboveSoBelow228 on

Who jumps in line to throw their hands on a protesting Marine? A POS.

  10. Radiant-Month-1168 on

A GOP Senator who shot himself on vacation and lied saying he was shot in afganistan. Then he attacks a marine who he knew could not fight back in that setting.

  11. Ok-disaster2022 on

Technically he wasn’t the one exerting force at the moment, but their was no reason for him to have been there. The marine was being forcibly removed by whoever’s job that is, and his hand got trapped.

*“Sheehy was assisting Capitol Police officers attempting to eject McGinnis from the hearing.“*

Is our government so strapped for cash that elected officials have to help Capitol Police during a meeting?

  13. FlournoyFlennory on

Sheehy vigorously opposes Disability Benefits for Veterans. He is not making friends. PS I was in 1st CAV OIF – my sh*t is real.

Sheehy Statements on VA Fraud and Benefit Usage
    Criticism of „Scamming“ Allegations:

„Handouts“ Accusation (Campaign Advertisement): In a 2024 campaign, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) released a radio ad featuring veterans alleging that Sheehy called VA benefits „handouts“ and advocated for „pure privatization“ of VA healthcare.

Regarding Sheehy: Sheehy did not state his current stance on degrading veterans benefits before he was elected and would likely not have been elected had he done so. There are multiple references online about him reporting on his „potential“ conflicts of interest, his questionable narration of his rags to riches story in his book which conflicts with the real story, his lying about a gunshot wound he received, etc.

    • AI summary regarding his potential conflicts of interests:

„In 2025, Senator Tim Sheehy’s primary potential conflicts of interest center on his extensive financial ties to Bridger Aerospace, an aerial firefighting company heavily reliant on federal contracts, and his legislative work on wildfire and defense reform that could potentially impact the industry.“

    • Here are some articles:

„I take on fraudsters and scammers for a living. Take it from me: Tim Sheehy is one of them“ (Daily Montanan, 4/31/24).

„Sheehy often brags about his business record. His company is in the red“ (American Journal News, 9/22/24).

„Sheehy says he lied about accidental discharge, gunshot wound incident in Glacier“ (Daily Montanan, 4/8/24).

„A Candidate for U.S. Senate Says He Was Shot in War. Was He?“ (NYT, 10/18/24).

„Memoir contradicts Republican Senate candidate’s ‘below the poverty line’ tale, Montana’s Tim Sheehy claims he and wife lived in poverty but own book reveals he had $400,000 to build company“ (The Guardian, 9/30/24).

„Senate Candidate Tells Different Story of Navy Discharge Than His Book Does“ (Daily Beast, 5/21/24).

-His net worth is $153 million as of 11/2025, and made $1.9 million in stocks as of 11/16/2025 (Quiver Quantative, 11/16/25)..

In other words we don’t need disability benefits. Can we cut off his congressional health care?

    “aLlEgEdLy”

Stop fucking around and call it what it is. There is a literal video of it. This is no better than “alternative facts”.

  15. It’s on video… Somebody should report this to the local police. Not that they do anything but still.

  16. elegantwino on

You can hear the bone break in the recording. Worse was the room full of military officers that wouldn’t even acknowledge the veteran being assaulted.

  17. NovelDraft5175 on

This is how the administration treats veterans, obviously being given illegal orders, administration is flashing red light of incompetence at leadership

Members of the military don’t want to continue Israel’s ethnic cleansing and killing indiscriminately.

This man had the courage to stand up, thank you

Republicans will get beat and take the money and run to another trumpstein gig

  18. He should step down, it is shameful for a senator to break a veterans arm for no reason. Assault. Who does he think he is?

  19. Mysterious_Cry41 on

Well I watched him do it. Obviously the Marine would be removed. Perhaps the Senator should have allowed the officers to do their job?

  20. reject_fascism on

It’s almost like the GOP is full of stupid assholes or something, anyone have info on this?

  21. Extinction-Entity on

    His ARM*

You can literally watch it break in the video! Why is everyone saying “hand”!?

  22. I don’t understand why it’s being reported that it was his hand? There is a video from another angle and you clearly see his whole arm snap.

  23. „We support the troops…except when they’re not warmongers like us.“

  24. DotarSojat527 on

The video I saw, Sheehy walks towards the stage after breaking the marine’s arm. A constituent calls him a coward, Sheehy’s response was a “F**k You”! What a POS.

  25. Zealousideal-Key471 on

Violence is the GOP response to everything. It’s just appalling what they are doing here in the US and around the world.

  26. Ok-Fennel-4463 on

Sheehy, the guy who shot himself at a national park and then lied about it being an old war wound. Tracks

  27. He had no business jumping in there while the police were handling it. He should have been arrested as anyone else would have been for doing the exact same thing.
