Can we fucking not please. Youth unemployment is still sky high, immigration is still an issue, affordability is still a disaster, housing crisis remains unresolved.

Maybe we can go on expensive wars and die for Israel after we’ve fixed the problems at home, alright?

Anything more than defending any Canadian interest in the region is a massive no

    3. No. We won’t be doing this. And if we do the government will be toppled.

By the sounds of it, seems more like an implication on article 5 „standing with allies when it makes sense“. I really seriously doubt Canada joins in on offensive operations, but war is messy and yes this is created by USA and Israel. Let them fucking deal with it.

    5. Yeah how about a giant fuck no.

How fucking quickly we went from.

„We can’t be the nation saying this is normal“ to „yeehaw let’s go bomb shit“

„One can never categorically rule out participation,“ Carney replied. „We will stand by our allies when it makes sense.“

Reads much different than the headline for those who didn’t click.

Doesnt sounds like we are joining the US in this war

      Edit:

Here is the question and answer with cpac link to that portion of the question

Journalist: You said that canada will not participate in US military action in Iran. So can you definitive say thats going to remain the case even if hostility Borden escalate or prolonged

Carney: The vase, fundamental, hypothetical in a conflict can spread very broadly, today events or recent events point to that. So one can never categorically rule out participation. We will stand by our allies when it make sense. Theres a distinction between the offensive action that were taken and being taken by the United States and Israel. That were taken by them without consultation with Canada with other allies. We are not party to those actions. We will always defend canadians, we will always standby and defend our allies when call upon

He said, „One can never categorically rule out participation. We will stand by our allies when it makes sense,“ and yeah, that statement makes sense.

He’s not saying that we’ll join america and Israel in their offensive war. He’s saying that if, hypothetically, of course, an ally(particularly a nato ally close to the war like Türkiye for example) is hit during this war, we will step in to fulfill our obligations.

      There it is for you.

Although I wish he took a stronger stance against US and Israeli interventions instead of:

      >Carney said while he wants to see a „broader de-escalation“ of hostilities, that cannot be achieved unless Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons and export terrorism is eliminated.

    10. This is the most diplomatic answer given (waves hands at everything). we are still in Trump’s crosshairs.

    11. Holy hell this title is putting in work to gaslight people.

There’s a literal missing word in that title. “Won’t **CATEGORICALLY** rule out” is the answer. That single word completely changes the tone of the sentence.

The post title isn’t even the headline in the article. This post is politically divisive rage bait, pay no heed.
