I was thinking about Iran yesterday. I live in northern Ireland. Can’t go to buy a loaf of bread on a Sunday morning because of conflict mixing with religion.

It made me wonder how far back we would be if we’d been bombed from the sky in modern times how far backwards it would push us.

Yeah we can stop right there. I wouldn’t trust their methodology for anything.

    4. 1 in 3 adults say they have no religion in Ireland and it’s nearly 1 in 2 when you get to the 16-29 year olds. If anything the survey proves that religion is dying. It’s a slow death but it’s a death.

I did a survey amongst my friends and found 100% believe this survey is bullshit.

    6. As someone in my early thirties who is a practicing catholic, I would love if news like this was true and accurate. But as people have highlighted, two surveys is relatively light on data. I’ll leave aside who conducted it and presume it was done with enough scientific rigour that it’s worthwhile enough to be published.

My own mass times that I go to in Dublin does have well over 100 people, but I don’t see many among my friend groups who still practice their faith of any denomination. It could be held up in the main by older generations.

    7. **Actual Poll:** finds moderate rates of religious affiliation with low levels of attendance, younger people being less religious and complaints from women (including the religious ones) that the Church does not respect them.

**Reddit users:** „Oh my God this is so ridiculously Pro-Church it must be fake!!“

    8. I wouldn’t trust the Iona Institute to hold the door open, never mind hold an unbiased survey.

    9. Headline says Ireland among most religious then the first line says
Ireland is in the “middle range” of religious countries in Europe

This article should have a line on the bottom of the article saying it was paid for by the church.

    10. All the bishops were surveyed. The questionnaire had just one question:
      Do you attend mass
      1. Everyday
      2. Every other day
      3. Every time the urge takes.

      Tick all that apply.

I struggle to believe this one. Given the reduction of priests, merging of parishes, no longer daily masses – at least in my area.
