Wir haben diese Steckdose auf unserem Balkon. Ich glaube nicht, dass es funktioniert, aber ich möchte mich vergewissern, bevor ich den Vermieter kontaktiere und möglicherweise einen Elektriker bezahle. Wie soll es funktionieren? Muss der Schalter auf 1 stehen? Ich habe es mit einer Lampe getestet, und der Schalter bleibt nicht auf 1. Die „Test“-Taste bewirkt auch nichts. Zusatzfrage: Bezahlt das der Vermieter (wenn ein Elektriker kommen muss) oder sind wir das? Leider ist mir das beim Einzug (vor einem Jahr) nicht aufgefallen, sondern erst jetzt, sonst hätte ich es auf dem Formular gemeldet.

“I” should be on, then the test button should switch it to “O”
If the switch doesn’t want to stay on I then either the Test button is physically stuck, or there is some issue inside the plug that causes it to short and immediately trigger the safety.
Sounds like something is inside the socket which triggers the GFCI. You can try to clean it with a vacuum cleaner, maybe that resolves it.
Normally the landlord has to pay for maintenance. Only small things have to be paid by the renter
This is a RCD protected outlet.
For it to work it (obviously?) Has to be switched on to I, then you can also press the test button to se if it trips.
If, like in your case, you try to turn it on but it doesn’t work this means that the outlet is detecting a ground fault as soon as it switches on and then immediately switches it back of because of the ground fault.
Since there is no device plugged in that could case the ground fault this means that something with the outlet is wrong and you indeed need to call a electrician.
To put the switch to 1 needs some force.. Just like a breaker switch. Nothing should be connected. Once at 1 push the button to check that it work as intended. Then switch it back to 1 and connect your appliances.
