  1. Ship in ICE, they’re already masked, people will totally believe those are Kurds

Wait, wait, wait. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard what the Trump Administration has done to the Kurds who agreed to fight for the United States before. They expect it to happen again?

Sure, Lucy. Go see if the Kurds want to be Charlie Brown with the football again. Sounds like fun.

Yeah idk about this. Trump abandoned them before, he’ll do it again. Iran will need to be seriously crippled for this to work.

Question, if we already fomented insurrection, may we be grandfathered in?

US either misjudged or purposely exaggerated the anti regime protestors strength to come on the streets and takeover the government

By bombing Iran it only achieved regime degradation they failed to change the regime .

The chances of a peaceful transition of power are less and more chances of a civil war .

It looks like the ultimate goal was never a regime change but Disintegration of Iran because that’s what is likely to happen. Different ethnic group declaring independence and claiming their territory and carving out their territories from Iran with US backing.

This feels like it would be one of the worst possible outcomes for the region.

While I understand that many Iranians do sympathise with the Kurds distinct views of themselves as a group, I struggle to see how promoting conflict along ethnic lines does anything but lead to destabilisation and conflict with a rallying regional enemy for the region

  7. I hope you guys are ready for US soldiers to start coming home in body bags by the dozens

  8. Word is they’re also considering bringing in Azerbaijan. Kurds would snatch the Kurdish-speaking part of Iran. Azerbaijan would annex the Azeri-speaking part, maybe NATO membership could be offered to them as an incentive. The oil-rich coastal area around the Persian Gulf would become a protective buffer zone administered by the US and privately owned by Trump, developed into a gigantic luxury beachfront property. I’m only half kidding.

Not sure America is ready for that. It took 9/11 and months of WMD talk before Americans got pumped for Iraq, and that’s still kinda fresh. This is like all the war with none of the foreplay.

  10. Luckily, arming Islamic militants has never backfired in the history of the world.

  11. Literally what the US tried to do in Iraq. Kurdistan is never happening. You would think they would be tired of being pawns.

The Iranians will crush this and the Turks will throw in cheap shots rather than have a new Kurdish insurgent region.

Way too little, too late (should have planned ahead).

  13. Not sure that any Kurdish faction should trust the word of this administration, based on recent history…

  14. US seeking armed Kurdish uprising… heard that before. Many times. Always ends very poorly for the Kurds.

Because inciting sectarian divisions within a failed state was such a great fucking idea. Just ask Syria and Afghanistan. The stupidity of this administration is off the charts.

Me when I want the Turks to get involved in the regional war that I started:

  17. That sounds like something a legitimate military operation would’ve started working on months ago.

    Huh? And or what?

Guess they just have been storing arms and ammo for fun while they have been persecuted for the last what, 100 years?

  19. „I know it’s tradition, but do not worry guys, we will totally not abandon you this time.“

This went not so well for the Cubans exiles and pretty much every group since then.

Trump didn’t just abandon them, like he just ordered our troops to up and leave. Oh, for sure he did that. The American troops who fought side by side with, and relied on Kurdish bravery and intelligence with their American lives in going after the Islamic State – and they were pissed when they were ordered to leave their brothers in arms behind. No, trump did something far worse. He gave them up to be slaughtered by Turkey (our nato ally) and Syria (under the brutal dictator Bashar al-Assad). [Trump is a coward. I had my hair cut recently, the barber was a Kurd from Iran. We had a good chat about various stuff. I saw him today and told him that I personally, hope his family still in Iran are safe.

  24. Appropriate-Gap34 on

Newsflash the Kurds won’t take that whole country. Their interest only lies in certain areas.

  25. AkimahenkaCat on

I’M SO SURE THE KURDS WILL FORGET YOU ABANDONING THEM BECAUSE IT’S A CONVENIENT OPTION FOR YOU NOW, YOU DUMB MF.
