After spain refused to let the US use its air base yesterday, trump threatened to cut off all trade between the two countries.

Trump has not acknowledged how he intends to go forward with this plan and it might prove difficult.

do you think this as a bluff or is trump really willing to cut trades with one of Europe’s major powers?

Spain didn’t help the gangster kill the tyrant, and the gangster is going to make Spain pay. What an interesting world of moral ambiguity we are living in.

  3. I know a recent target. $33 billion investment from Amazon the gov there just announced. Easy excuse too. Launch an investigation on the gov’s tie with China.

  4. The last time Spain aided the US in a conflict, there was a terrorist attack in Madrid’s subway. They have a pretty sizable muslim population and they don’t have the resources to deal with domestic terrorism.

    Dear Spain,

Do join us for tea or perhaps a gin & tonic on the verandah, we have a splendid view of Trump losing his temper and acting like a child.

    Sincerely,

    The UK.

Jokes aside, I believe Spain is well within its rights to act in its own interests.

Trump is engaged in an illegal conflict and he is now attempting to drag more of America’s allies into the fight.

Many nations across Europe remember the last time America dragged us into an illegal fight in the middle east, and the prices we paid both at home and abroad as a result of the action and terrorism.

I am pleased to hear Spain has stood up to the US, just as I am please the UK has done similar.

Enough is enough; our interests do not align with the US under trump, and we muat distance ourselves from America accordingly.

I see both sides to this. Spain has a lot of Muslims and doesn’t want to have the optics of supporting a nation bombing an Islamic country.

From America’s standpoint – we have two bases there, that we pay a crap ton of money for. The whole point of having bases abroad is for when things pop off like this. If a nation is going to rug pull us – a little economic coercion is not something out of the question.

Amen. If Europe can hope to develop back its industry and technology it needs to wall off itself like China did.
