      This was announced just 4 days after Microsoft publicly said they were „scaling back“ Copilot integrations and pulling it from Notepad and Paint. So they removed it from a text editor nobody uses AI in, and shoved it into the one app every single Windows user opens daily. Copilot’s web market share has been stuck at 1% for over a year. ChatGPT has 64.5%. Nobody is asking for this, and Microsoft knows it and they just don’t care. They also just banned the word „Microslop“ on their own Discord server and locked the whole thing down when people found workarounds. This company is speedrunning the trust destruction any% category.

      At this point all I really care about a working version of File Explorer.

      I used to think that the point of business was to make something that customers would like.

      Now I see that the point is to make something that shareholders will like.

      what the heck llm will do in file explorer? you basically use FE to traverse directories and open files, who needs possibly hallucinating thing with read/write access sitting right in your file explorer…

      Why the fuck do you need an AI in a file manager???? Seriously, WTF could it possibly be used for that isn’t met by a standalone AI app?

      Remember with windows XP and 7 you could tailor your OS to your needs and preferences and that was it? Now you basically rent a PC and find that it’s almost impossible to not log into a Microsoft Account, share data even if it’s just solitaire and set preferences without losing basic convinces that were standard in the past. And it’s apparently an upside to have Copilot in your face when you look at pictures from your kids birthday party.

      Urrg. If I found a good gaming Linux OS, am done with Windows. That’s the only reason I have a system with Windows. So tired of the constant bullshit.

      Back in January, Microsoft was still promising to work on fixing the long-standing issues with Windows. I thought they would **repent** and become pragmatic, but now it seems Microsoft is still the same Microsoft， still that KPI and PPT-driven Microsoft.

      And this is why, when I bought a new PC last month, I immediately flashed the hard drive before turning the machine on and installed Linux.

      I will never have Windows 11 on a single device I own. That microslop bullshit will never get my support.

      You know for a company that doesn’t want to be called slop, it sure is pushing it on people. What’s even worse is that even they don’t use copilot, they use other LLMs while working.

      I’m usually supportive of Microsoft, but this is a shit idea. They need to tone it back and finish the OS not force AI into everything. I thought they learned from Cortana

      I’d rather risk running a unsecure system with w10 than ever go to w11 again. Microsoft has completely fucked themselves the past decade and continue doing so.
