What’s the deal with the weird syllables? Cal-e-for-ni-a, Flo-r-i-da. Also, what dialect of English pronounces new as /nuː/, I never heard anything but /njuː/.

On the whole, not bad. There are, however, going to be regional variations.
In my native Northern Illinois we would more likely say **nəˈvædə** for the 36th state. Never been to NV so I’m interested in how residents there pronounce it.
