      I was almost expecting them to increase the submarine size for the nuclear ballistic missiles as well.

      I’d hate to think that maybe they need a nuclear deterrent to counter Trump’s increasing threats and aggression. Don’t think so, but it’s unfortunate that this even has to come to mind.

      Surely the money is better spent on stuff they’ll actually use like drones, anti drone weapons and training more soldiers? If we get to the point of using nukes then it’s not going to matter how many they have, it’ll be the apocalypse anyway

      🇨🇦: maybe we could hold onto some of that increase? Just for safe keeping, of course 🫣… that way, *one* continent will have reserves in case the *other* is attacked. 👀

      This can only be a bad thing. This means they intend to position Nukes the way the US currently does in other countries.

      France has enough of a deterrent for themselves.
      I’m not against other countries being under the nuclear umbrella but them not being under the countries own authority just gives countries an unfair advantage in politics.

      Since 1995 Netanyahu has claimed imminent threats of nuclear attacks from Iran. And with every claim, the US would send them money and military equipment. Last June the US‘
      s „Dept of War“ (sic) after bombing Iran posted on their own website they’d „neutralized“ Iran’s capabilities during that attack. They even added „Anyone that says different is fake news“. This is why the US can NEVER be trusted again. Americans voted for this.

      The estimated cost for the US to maintain it’s nuclear arsenal over the next ten years is around $1 trillion.

      I’m sorry, is having enough nuclear missiles to eradicate all life on earth a thousand times over not enough? How many years of inhabitability do we need to ensure that we’re „safe“.

      France will only use their nuclear weapons when there’s a risk to the existence of Grace, they have a nuclear warning shot in their strategy.

      The trouble is, France existed quite happily during the cold war when Russia controlled half of Germany.

      Many experts believe France will not use nuclear weapons until at least Berlin is under threat of being captured.

      That means Russia is free to take half of Europe using conventional forces, and they know it!

      The UK only produces the nuclear warheads, the missiles and targeting system is bought from the USA. Trump or Vance would not allow the UK to actually use these missiles against Russia. Russia also knows this.

      If you are in Poland, Greece, Romania, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Finland… You need your own nukes! France will not even respond to Russia using nukes on you, they expect NATO to respond to that (which they are part of, but will not act independently). With Trump or Vance in the Whitehouse NATO is not going to respond.

      Everyone should try to get their own nukes. I’m all for my country(Turkey) getting some.
