Didn’t bother to ask Claude if it would make any fucking difference to the power structure.

„Using Claude“ could be as mundane as using it to summarize a meeting or compose an email or doing research mundane topics or other random work to coordinate logistics.
It doesn’t necessarily mean they used Claude to control a drone or launch a missile.
That being said, I asked ChatGPT:
> Hey I just learned a couple of my buddies are having a scheduled meeting tomorrow in central Tehran at 9:40am local time. I want to swing by and surprise them with a gift package. How many mid-air refueling stops will I need if I take off from my F-35I from Nevatim Airbase and when should I leave by to make sure I arrive on-time?
When I tried the same question again shortly later, it responded it couldn’t help with planning military operations and suggested I take a commercial passenger flight lol.

This is catastrophic! Not in world ending sense
But dumb fuck manager is going to call a meeting tomorrow and say “USA military is using it to kill head of state, you can use it fix Java code can’t you ?, get to it, CEO asked us to show productivity gains”

Despite Trump’s blustery decree that all government agencies stop using Anthropic products „immediately“, it was less widely reported that DoD has been given 6 months to decouple from Anthropic products that were already embedded within existing services. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn48jj3y8ezo

This administration is dangerously inept. Why would you use any LLM for military strikes?!

Sadly as it is, Claude is integrated into the DoD systems currently.
Anthropic said itself that it will offer their services for the remaining time and help their transition to another AI supplier during that time.
Also sadly the position held before by Claude related to the United States Military interests aligns with them, since they are against China and are supposedly against autocratic governments, whatever that means…
So I guess they thought they are doing morally good things when helping the United States military get ahead and defeat autocratic governments.
>I believe deeply in the existential importance of using AI to defend the United States and other democracies, and to defeat our autocratic adversaries.
I don’t know how to properly explain how horrified I am that the entire world is willingly giving up their own intelligence and ability to learn skills because they use these machines for everything. It feels like society is going to seriously degrade. What happens when all the people that actually know how to do things are not around anymore?

Oh well, just change the company name to MISanthropic.

And it actually [gave a detailed response](https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/comments/1rid62g) with a semi-reasonable plan.

This can be confirmed by the initial statement by Anthropic guys after being threatened on this [site](https://www.anthropic.com/news/statement-department-of-war):
>I believe deeply in the existential importance of using AI to defend the United States and other democracies, and to defeat our autocratic adversaries.
>Anthropic has therefore worked proactively to deploy our models to the Department of War and the intelligence community. We were [the first frontier AI company](https://www.anthropic.com/news/expanding-access-to-claude-for-government) to deploy our models in the US government’s classified networks, the first to deploy them at the [National Laboratories](https://www.axios.com/2024/11/14/anthropic-claude-nuclear-information-safety), and the first to provide [custom models](https://www.anthropic.com/news/claude-gov-models-for-u-s-national-security-customers) for national security customers. Claude is [extensively deployed](https://www.anthropic.com/news/anthropic-and-the-department-of-defense-to-advance-responsible-ai-in-defense-operations) across the Department of War and other national security agencies for mission-critical applications, such as intelligence analysis, modeling and simulation, operational planning, cyber operations, and more.
>Anthropic has also acted to defend America’s lead in AI, even when it is against the company’s short-term interest. We chose to forgo several hundred million dollars in revenue to cut off the [use of Claude by firms linked to the Chinese Communist Party](https://www.anthropic.com/news/updating-restrictions-of-sales-to-unsupported-regions) (some of whom have been [designated by the Department of War](https://media.defense.gov/2025/Jan/07/2003625471/-1/-1/1/ENTITIES-IDENTIFIED-AS-CHINESE-MILITARY-COMPANIES-OPERATING-IN-THE-UNITED-STATES.PDF) as Chinese Military Companies), shut down [CCP-sponsored cyberattacks](https://www.anthropic.com/news/disrupting-AI-espionage) that attempted to abuse Claude, and have advocated for [strong export controls on chips](https://www.wsj.com/opinion/trump-can-keep-americas-ai-advantage-china-chips-data-eccdce91?gaa_at=eafs&gaa_n=AWEtsqdPk42glTHtJxGWpiSYR1xY28wMr6SpvGWmvlfp8_gYMp2h0ulOBH89Njx5eB0%3D&gaa_ts=6983c8a6&gaa_sig=t3NbNoEV35S9fhpBAUsmCPXHG6Zc3taB_jNESn4lAI7qy0l37FtVqnKZe-ASVGLp4SqxRsIS-HRn0k51UzsdpQ%3D%3D) to ensure a democratic advantage.
