      You know why the US attacked Iran?

      1. Iran has made itself the enemy of the US. It didn’t need to, there was no particular need within the Islamic Revolution to make the US their enemy, but they chose to do so. They have contributed to virtually every American casualty in the Middle East from the 1980s onwards. The Marine barracks in Beirut, Operation Praying Mantis, indirectly with Desert Shield and Desert Storm, funneling of weapons to the Iraqi insurgency, etc.

      2. Iran is weak right now. Russia is not in the position to help Iran. China doesn’t have the legs to help Iran. All of Iran’s proxies, at least so far, had been weakened to the point of irrelevancy. Iran’s anti-air defenses are still as battered as they’ve ever been, thanks to the 12-Day War. The internal unhappiness in Iran is as high as it has ever been indeed Islamic Republic era.

      The US has an enemy, an avowed enemy, that is weak.

      I’m pretty sure Sun Tzu had something to say about that.
