It’s feels more like they don’t care until you mess with the country like all the nuisance streamers, and YouTubers are doing. The classic case of inviting a friend to your house and they start trashing the place so you tell them to leave
Ah, so they don’t know all the moves she’s making to screw us over even if we follow the rules. I guess that makes sense, Japanese citizens don’t have reason to know about the 3 year/5 year visa change and how that effects those of us here long term.
Generally speaking, the youth here are liberal so long as law and order is respected. So, not really liberal but authoritarian.

To be fair it’s tough always arguing other countries politics and what is or isn’t liberal enough. It feels like when people say that they know better that they think other countries are just inferior or not smart enough. That’s conquistador type of vibes 😭
Nobody voted for this puppet, it was sworn in by the cult.
Even her peers are alluding to it.
Nobody believes it, not even her peerage.
Yet, the law for PR is basically turning it into a long term visa which can be revoked the moment you stop paying taxes. Note: i do not mean skipping tax payments, i mean as soon as your revenue drops, you may have PR forfeited. Why do I think this is where its going when it hasnt been codified yet?
Utsunomiya’s city government also passed a law which will allow them to link these payments of health insurance, pension, residence tax to the immigration bureau. Soon they may draw red lines and say ‚if your income is less than 4 million yen (and we dont get the tax for that 4 million yen per year‘ your PR is cancelled, and you cant renew your residence card.
We are entering an age of hyper-transactional immigration policy. The moment you lose your job – get out.
What makes you think the youth identify as liberal?
