They’re not cowards, just terrorist sympathizers that hate our nation.

  2. Writer_In_Residence on

It’s not cowardly, they’re doing what they are paid to do. Morally bankrupt maybe is a better descriptor.

It’s hard to get behind Trump on anything. Iran was never a force of good and benevolence in the middle east neighborhood. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Donald J Trump, in my opinion, are men cut from the same cloth. The world will be a better place without either one of them.

The classic “let’s vote so we can get them on record” like that’s a real gotcha!

  5. Travelerdude on

Bash democratic leaders all you want but first stop the Republican Party from stealing the elections.

  6. They ARE cowards, as evidenced by their lack of response, and should face backlash.

If the Democrats do manage to take control in 2026, it will be in spite of the (lack of) actions of their leaders, not because of them.

  7. But the republican leaders who actually have the power to do something get a free pass for their cowardly inaction???!!

  8. „Democratic Leaders Face Backlash Over ‚Cowardly‘ Responses to Trump“

    That’s all the headline needed.

  9. HeadPaleontologist40 on

They are owned by the same wealthy and powerful people as Trump and the GOP. No reason why we should expect anything different from them.

But Chuck keeps his glasses at the end of his nose, what else can he do?

Trot out the flow chart where all lines end up at “Democrats bad”.

They have literally had nothing but cowardly responses to trump since the election. Why are we acting surprised?! Schumer and Jeffries should be just as hated as Trump at this point.

  13. The Israeli trolls are all over Reddit and trying to amplify messages they want and downvote ones that are critical.

Anyway, the lack of immediate criticism from democrats was jarring.

  14. I do think that in general their response to this has been weak but somebody please explain why we keep holding the party that holds no real power in this administration accountable for the actions of the party in power in all three branches of government?

  15. This isn’t cowardly, this is by design. This is AIPAC yelling in their ear and pockets.

  16. J-the-Kidder on

As they should. But, as long as their AIPAC checks keep coming, they’ll be happy to be cowards.

  17. Hillbilly_Boozer on

Why would Chuck ‚Do anything for Israel‘ Schumer want to stop a US-Israel joint attack? The man does not hold American interests above those of Israel. And Jeffries is weak and can’t even stand behind abolishing ICE.

I’d call it gross incompetence, but they’re very effective at doing nothing. They need to go and democrats with actual spines need to step in.

  18. Oh, stop it. Where are the headlines talking about the Republicans‘ „cowardly response“? They have protected and defended the jackass in the White House for a decade now. Democrats have no power to do anything… cowardly or not. Stop blaming them. Trump and the Republicans did this. (And, we can be happy that the Ayatollah is dead, without wanting another forever war). Release the unredacted Epstein files and prove Trump didn’t rape little boys and girls.

Anything less than “throwing their bodies on the levers and gears of the machine” is less than this moment is history requires.

Nobody gets partial credit for resisting a fascist regime.

  20. StormOk7544 on

The most they can do is a War Powers Act vote, which they are reportedly pushing to do. They are not in control of Congress so why are they getting so much blame?

  21. So, what exactly are democrats supposed to do when it’s *republicans* who are in charge of all three branches of the US government?

  22. pillbox_purgatory on

Is this sub finally admitting it’s Both Sides??? 😭😭😭

Took yall forever to get to that conclusion

  23. If anything, they aren’t facing enough backlash. People should be going to state and county level DNC headquarters protesting this. If democrats are going to subvert the process and let a war spark, we’re going to go around them and directly pull on the mechanisms that allow them to function.

…I mean, not today. Most of them aren’t open today. And honestly, going to state level Republican party headquarters would be a good idea too. If anything, that would be a significantly better idea.

  24. GlitteringRate6296 on

Appears they don’t want Congress to do its job either. Maybe due to AIPAC.

Nobody wants to pipe up and have their homes burst into flames or some cop dude show up at the end of their bed in a hockey mask

  26. naththegrath10 on

I mean they wrote that strongly worded letter and scheduled a zoom call for Monday. Is that not enough? /s

  27. Have people actually been listening to the responses or are folks just reflexively commenting?

Jeffries was saying yesterday that this is an illegal act and a war powers bill needs to be voted on ASAP to stop this.

I don’t think anyone is shedding tears for the deaths of that regime’s leaders but what Democrat is actually in support of having done this?

The reality is Democrats have no power at the moment to stop it. All they can do is speak out, which they are.

  28. The two are so weak and spineless. The Democrats are a sinking ship uplifted only by Trumps extreme ineptitude.

  29. Schumer has long wanted war with Iran. He openly opposed the Iran Nuclear deal under Obama. When Trump bombed Iran last year, Schumer took to social media to complain about “back room deals,” aka, he was upset that he wasn’t included – not that we just bombed another ME country for no material reason.

The Dem establishment wants this, but they’re just going to pout about procedure, optics, etc., to make it seem like they don’t.

  30. No_Boot1478 on

Fuck these two guys. They are as responsible as any one else for the situation. They’re so hemmed in by there donors that they can’t say a fucking thing.
