China is salivating at the thought of having their electric vehicles in Canada, not for Canada in itself, but to eventually be able to export into the US market from Canada. They’re aware of that unlikelihood during Trump, but they’re playing the long game.
South Korea are looking to expand car manufacturing within Canada, I believe Germany is as well, although I assume both of their interests relate to the submarine deal so it may just be one country or the other.
Well yes, we have no domestic auto industry. We function as a lower-cost manufacturing site for foreign auto so they can sell to the USA. Even the USA uses us as that.
Pierre got proven correct again. CUSMA is needed and no new world order with China will change that. We don’t need Chinese EV’s
If we can only get a full sized pick manufactured in Canada we would be set.
