This is proves Pierre is right that CUSMA can not be abandoned for the sake of a new world order with China. If you want Japanese manufacturers to stay CUSMA is needed.
Relying on foreign branch plants for job growth is an outdated strategy that leaves us poorer and exposed. Instead, we should be building domestic firms that create high-value products and compete globally. That’s how you generate not just jobs, but durable wealth and sovereignty. Otherwise, we’ll keep bending to foreign pressure to protect jobs in a handful of politically sensitive sectors.
Basically foreign car companies only build here to sell to the USA. Trump doesnt want to them to build outside to just import majority of the cars from Canada. USA can build those cars inside the country without Canada.
We need a Canadian company here. Honestly, just a shit ton of crown corps that serve Canadians first, and then export. We can’t expect multinationals to give a hoot and/or holler about us, so we need to lock in ourselves. I’m not a car guy though, so unfortunately I am not much help there. Lol
