      Polymarket is not valuable, at least not insofar as „valuable“ is defined as „meaningfully improving human life“.

      What cartoonishy evil shit is this? Between this and Kalshi snatching the souls of X celeb/athlete and it’s looking pretty bleak for younger people. Desensitized to gambling turning into adults, and with all the tracking and monitoring, they can guarantee find your vice and send ads right along your way.

      We can see why gambling is forbidden in Islam. Eventually it becomes a slippery slope and before you know it we’re betting on the number of civilian casualties in a conflict which creates the incentive for more civilian casualties. A sick self perpetuating engine of evil. Gambling and usury have really helped in fucking the world up even more

      I think it’s stupid to think insider trading on Polymarket has meaningful impact on big conflict. But if you think it does, you can bit on more casualties and reduce them in this way. (This is not betting advice, as I said, I think it’s stupid.)

      Polymarket is a prediction tool. People with better information make actual financial decisions based on their certainty and this is reflected on the odds.

      There’s no better future crystal ball out there than Polymarket.

      The nightmare isn’t just betting on events, its that it could encourage black swan events because there is money to be made.  It could encourage more war.
