  1. “Has President Trump learned nothing from decades of U.S. meddling in Iran and forever wars in the Middle East?” Kaine asked. “Is he too mentally incapacitated to realize that we had a diplomatic agreement with Iran that was keeping its nuclear program in check, until he ripped it up during his first term?”

Trump in 2018 [withdrew](https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/386656-trump-pulls-us-out-of-iran-deal/) the U.S. from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) initially signed in 2015, a deal that was effectively blocking Iran’s pathway to building a bomb.

“For months, I have raised hell about the fact that Americans want lower prices, not more wars – especially wars that aren’t authorized by Congress, as required by the Constitution, and don’t have a clear objective,” Kaine continued Saturday.

“These strikes are a colossal mistake, and I pray they do not cost our sons and daughters in uniform and at our embassies throughout the region their life,” he added.

„Trump pulls US out of Iran nuke deal“

„[President Trump ](https://thehill.com/people/donald-trump/)announced Tuesday that he will withdraw the United States from the Iran nuclear deal, breaking with European allies, fulfilling a major campaign promise and dealing a significant blow to the international agreement negotiated by his predecessor.“

“Today’s action sends a critical message: the United States no longer makes empty threats,” a triumphant Trump said during a televised address from the Diplomatic Room of the White House as Vice President Pence, national security adviser John Bolton and others looked on.“

„Trump had faced a Saturday deadline to renew the waivers on oil and banking sanctions that were lifted as part of the deal. The deal provided Tehran billions of dollars in sanctions relief in exchange for accepting limits on its nuclear program.“

„International inspectors and the deal’s signatories, including senior U.S. officials, have said Iran is in compliance with the terms of the agreement.“

„Democrats ripped the decision, including critics of the deal such as Sen. [Bob Menendez ](https://thehill.com/people/bob-menendez/)(D-N.J.), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.“

“While I strongly opposed the [deal], it is a grave mistake to walk away from this deal without a plan for ensuring that Iran does not restart its nuclear weapon program, without a strategy for countering Iran’s dangerous non-nuclear activities, and without our allies and partners,” he said in a statement.“

„But Trump’s announcement fulfills a core promise of his 2016 campaign and he has long telegraphed he wanted to scrap the pact, calling it the “worst deal ever negotiated.”

„Supporters of the deal say the United States withdrawing gives Iran an excuse to restart its nuclear program, effectively killing the pact. Macron has warned the end of the deal “could mean war” with the country.“

Every country in teh world now sees that only a nuclear umbrella option will protect them. The US was that umbrella by proxy until it went MAGA.

  3. Back in June the White House said Iran’s nuclear facilities were “totally obliterated”.

  4. Less-Hawk-4723 on

If Iran was dabbling in nuclear weapon development before this, they will probably be hellbent on acquiring them now to avoid this in the future

  5. Imagine raping so many children that you have to bomb a foreign country to avoid people talking about it…

  6. > Senator Tim Kaine has accepted $600,065 from the pro-Israel lobby in exchange for his integrity in the U.S. Congress. Tim Kaine has been using his voting power to push AIPAC’s agenda to fund Israel’s military and repress Palestinians in the diaspora since 2018. Terror Tim has signed off on the Strengthening of Israel-U.S. Alliance Act, which provides Israel with $3.8 billion in unconditional military aid

This is the guy leading the war powers resolution act and telling politicians to get back to congress to express their outrage.

    America is cooked.

  7. The only thing „totally obliterated“ is and has been The orange shit-gibbons mental capacity… anyone that voted for this, likely worse and good job dipshits.

With all the ways the world can end, I think it’s possible Trump just invited the end of the world via nuclear world war.

  9. So is a third of America. The only reason why the deal was torn to shreds is because a black man accomplished it.

Just like with the ACA. The rubes in the backwater states love it but at the same time hate Obamacare.

    They’re literally the same thing.

Any other small countries understand now North Korea nuclear belligerence is what kept its political and national structure intact. The fallout of this adventure will be profound for the rest of this century.

  11. I mean yea, this shows all other states that the only proper defense you can have from these empires is your own nuclear deterrence.

It is a bitter and horrible reality to live in, but if Iran had nuclear weapons, if it had not been showing so much goodwill towards scaling back their own nuclear projects.. there probably would be a lot less people dead now

Every other nation is seeing this, and they can all draw their own conclusions from this

Protection of the Epstein class. Distraction from Epstein.

Keep the the lid on Israeli brass involvement with Epstein.

    Nothing else to see here.

And what is the Guard Our Pedo and the rest of Congress doing?

NOTHING, except inhaling the orange vapors.

so the headline is basically “trump’s too fried upstairs to run a debate”

at this point it’s less a political critique and more a public service announcement.

whether you agree with kaine or not, it reads like something even his own party might whisper about in private.

  15. just_a_lazy_loser on

it’s funny how in normal times calling someone mentally incapable would tank a campaign
now it’s just another weekend political take that fizzles right into the next headline.

    the standards have *really* shifted.

Not just Iran – at this point why would any country not consider WMD development as a check against United States (and other nations) aggression/interference? North Korea has pretty much been left alone to its own devices.  Ukraine may very well have been left alone had it kept its nuclear arsenal.

  17. Epstein is getting to close to tRump so he needed a distraction… That’s why tRump ordered the attack.

  18. pillbox_purgatory on

Senator Kaine…what have you done since 2016 to stop Trump? Centrists like you are only capable of sending out tweets and rubber stamping the Trump agenda.

Imagine the Cuban Missile Crisis with these bozos in charge, none of us would have been born.

  20. Trump withdrew from the previous Iran nuclear deal where we were able to send nuclear inspectors to any location, at any time, with no warning, and replaced it with war. Art of the deal!

He is truly the worst President to ever live, and one of the worst people to ever live.
