Basically when light passes through a large volume of air, the blue and violet fractions of visible light have a harder time passing through all that air without getting knocked off course and scattered all around, and some of that light reaches your eyes. It actually scatters more violet than blue, so you can argue the sky is actually violet, but we don’t see violet very well so our brains see mostly blue.
Also today is our annual day without total cloud cover, enjoy.
