      Trumps video basically says the goal is to annihilate the Iranian military its proxies and regime change. This is going to have long term dangerous consequences.

      Please, if you haven’t, watch his announcement that he posted in truth social. I know he’s painful to watch/hear but this is important. He’s literally about to star the Iraq War but this time with Iran. He’s referencing decades old grievances, acknowledging that American soldiers will die because of this, and telling the millions of people in Iran that they need to stay inside and that a lot of bombs are coming their way. Fucking insanity. What the fuck are we doing here?

      A war to soothe Trump’s ego.

      So much for „America first.“

      And what happened to „no more foreign wars?“

      BETTER YET, what happened to „obliterating“ all of Iran’s nuclear capabilities?

      These strikes officially confirm that Trump’s so-called „midnight hammer“ operation was a failure, and of course that he lied to the American people about the state of Iran’s nuclear program while he has also been lying to us about the threat that Iran really poses to the United States.

      All intel contradicts his pretense and reasoning for this hostile action and the US military interventions that will follow.

      History is repeating itself. A belligerent Republican president justifying a war in the middle east with false claims, empty platitudes, and lie after lie about his motivations.

      Reminder that Trump has been escalating provocations with Iran throughout both of his presidencies. Congress even had to pass a war powers resolution to curb his power and his appetite for foreign conflict after he authorized the strike that killed Soleimani.

      Not to mention how Trump’s decision to sanction Iran’s banking system and economy back in 2018 only destabilized the region further, the impacts of which were at the center of recent protests.

      And now he’s starting another regional war as a way to avoid having to take responsibility for his failures of foreign policy, his failure to negotiate a new nuclear deal after withdrawing from the previous JCPOA out of sheer spite for Obama, his failure to deescalate tensions between the US and Iran ever since he unilaterally decided to bomb an Iranian general, his failure to comply with international norms while negotiations are still pending and his failure as commander in chief.
