I seriously wonder what these AI companies thought would happen when they pursued AGI. This is so laughably inevitable that it would be put into weapons and used to kill people. Hence the thousands of scifi books and movies warning about it.
There’s no Agencies with specific purpose in the North Korean government, they all have total plenary authority & can essentially do whatever they want as long as they work for the dictator.
Quite similar here.

Contrary opinion:
1. Anthropic is a software company first, it has limited hardware expertise, and certainly no expertise in designing weapon systems. Some of its hires are fresh graduates from university and people who obviously would never be granted military access.
2. Given this, why is the Pentagon so eager to work with a company to build „autonomous weapons“. Anthropic doesn’t even have a single mechanical engineer to my knowledge. And why Anthropic specifically when so many other options are available?
3. Anthropic was seeded by Eric Schmidt who started a chip-war with China and has repeatedly tried to developed AI weapon companies (e.g., White Stork). And Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called for robust military superiority against „autocratic adversaries“. Does that sound like people who are against miliary-industrial complex?
This sounds all like a smokescreen to me. Something is happening behind the scenes and it is not what their controlled news release portrays.
This administration is too immature to trust with tools like this.
This entire administration is one very bad idea.
Trump is the closest thing we’ve ever seen to the biblical Anti-Christ so its a given that he’s going to bring about Armegaddon. The only question is how?
He can order the launching of the warheads, but those darn old humans might balk at doing it.

I’m thinking the concern is that US troops might hesitate to fire on US citizens. AI powered weapon systems can be programmed to have no such reservations.
