    Didn’t Carney reduce immigration numbers?

Also this article doesn’t give any examples of MPs crying racism. Does anyone have an example of MPs crying racism under Carney because of immigration?

It’s really wild for me to see legacy media in Canada just perpetually being 3 years behind. I’m not disagreeing with the writer at all, but it isnt‘ really all that controversial to be opposed to extremely high levels of immigration when it strains our infrastructure (services, markets, etc). It was maybe 3 years ago, but it isn’t now.

Furthermore, the Liberals (rather recklessly IMO) did a complete 180 in their immigration policy. We went from the highest level in the developed world to one of the lowest with the stroke of a pen. This is arguably even worse than opening the flood gates – but both are bad. Canada is flatlining in population – we could realistically even lose some people this year. So batshit crazy immigration targets just aren’t much of a problem anymore.

The people who are crying racism are those that have financial connections to having as many refugees coming to Canada as possible.

It’s literally all, Refugee Groups, Immigration counselors, and immigration consultants. These people make their money from immigration/refugee. And they make more money the more there is.

That’s all. This is no different from real estate people begging for AirBnB/Short term rental regulations being scrapped and foreign buyer ban being repealed. Or Loblaws wanting no outside competition grocers.

Any group that makes money or receives money for X, should be barred and ignored. Especially if they make MORE MONEY from unfettered access and growth of X thing.

This is like asking advice on policing from active criminals. Like, come on conflict of interest is obvious.

Stop dog whistle politicking and the claims to racism will stop. But you cant do that because saying we need reform to the asylum appeal process and rights therein is not as compelling as a call to action as “illegals are stealing healthcare and the liberals let them”

At this point I see people saying “they called me racist for wanting less immigration” 10 to 1 over people actually being called racist for wanting less immigration.

Anyone who thinks it’s easy to get a visa, PR, status or citizenship in Canada has never had to work with either the IRCC or one of its 5 part time employees. Least transparent, fair, & efficient process among first world countries by far. We’re shooting ourselves in the foot here driving away highly skilled/qualified immigrants who can be moved in anywhere else in the world with a work visa, apartment, friends & 6 months of salary in the bank before Canadas 280+ days decision time. IRCC is a joke

  7. Mostly concerned with FAKE refugee and asylum claims at the moment.

I think it’s also underestimated how backlogged our courts, which complicate making final decisions or deportations.
