Turns out there’s a whole history of why it’s done this way. I always assumed our guys are just too lazy to bother finding the first free page in the passport and go to the back right away haha.

I really love how well we organize these stamps. Thwy are always in 2 neat columns on the last page. It saves a lot of visa pages and minimizes waste. EU and US customs, on the other hand, will ignore a half-filled page of stamps and pick your last free visa page and stamp roght in the middle.
As others noted, there’s a story/logic behind it. And I suport it. It keeps things neat and well organized.
