I don’t want to minimize what this guy did, but I was not surprised at all that this happened during ABA therapy.
As an autistic adult… it’s so heartbreaking to see this type of abuse.
We are so vulnerable during our childhood/adolescence and it’s so painful to see that get taken advantage of.
Oh my gosh, as the parent to a partially verbal autistic kid, this is one of my worst nightmares. I’m so glad he was charged and terminated, but I’m so heartbroken that there are possibly more victims.
Some kind of sicko! Would like to know how he got past professional screening.
Bring your autistic children to a therapist for him to turn around and abuse them

I left Ontario with my Ontario born autistic kid because I knew it wasn’t safe to raise her there in the way I wanted. Lots of ABA done behind my back in daycare once she was dxd the minute I said yes to “intervention.” All set up so it was very hard to figure out what was actually happening. They wanted to put her in an autism classroom for JK and claimed it was the only way to have any hope of getting any supports at school (she could get an IEP and be mainstreamed but it would basically just be polite suggestions to exasperated and overworked teachers)
Now we live in the land of masked secret police so are merely unsafe in other fun ways
