“One day everyone will have always have been against this.”

  2. Three_Froggy_Problem on

Some of them, maybe. Not most of them. The Trump voters I know couldn’t be more proud of it and are constantly bragging about how great he is (while never actually saying anything specific he’s done to improve their lives).

  3. I genuinely dont believe this, there are some that regret it but im sure a strong 90%+ majority would march their happy asses back to the polls and do it all again

    „I never voted for Nixon“.

Then how did he get elected?

    Same thing here.

Daily Beast, we need to talk. You know I love you. But, damnit, can you work on MAKING YOUR GODDAMN SITE READABLE BY NORMAL BROWSERS WITHOUT CAUSING MEMORY MELTDOWN?

    Thanks.

  6. This isn’t new. Plenty of good ol‘ boys I knew didn’t vote for W the second time, they just voted against Kerry. Makes sense when you remember that it’s the party of personal responsibility we’re talking about.

Try to find someone that voted if it Dubya now. I thought the same thing would happen to Trump after his first term but instead he and the GOP propaganda machine created a very effective cult around him. People not only support him until he dies but they will support him until they die as well.

  8. This is straight up delusion. No, Trump’s base is not turning on him. No, MAGA isn’t falling apart. This is written by someone who clearly has never interacted with real people on the right.

Yes, embarrassed and deny. Slink into voting booth and vote their baser instincts. Do not believe the polls.

I have family members who voted for him. The super religious type that see it as “non-christian” to vote democrat. People like this are definitely not denying their votes.

I live in Texas. There are PLENTY of people still broadcasting to people on the road that they voted for him, some with big ass flags that highlight their deliberately terrible choice.

  12. thistimelineisweird on

I can forgive people who voted for him in 2016. But now? Nah, you need something you can’t take off.

Have we gotten to that point yet?

You’d think that Libertarians, who have gotten their unregulated dream, would be less quiet.

  14. My elderly mom 84 everyday with all her trump toys says, I LOVE THAT MAN! Makes me sick.

They’re easy to spot in the wild because even if they don’t admit they voted for trump they’ll go to great lengths to convince you that both sides were and are still the same.

  16. So, kinda the reverse of Woodstock? Ya know, four hundred thousand were there, four million claimed they were there, that sorta thing. Nobody will fess up to voting for him, but somehow he got in.

  17. I still haven’t found someone willing to say they voted for Ted Cruz but also none of them know who ran against Ted Cruz either.

I don’t want to read stuff like this just to have Democratic voters become complacent and not show up. This election is going to be key to hold the administration’s feet to the fire. We have to win at least one of the House or Senate. Ideally, it’s a wave. There is just no space for any complacency. Help get out the vote, and go vote yourself.

Deep red Oklahoma here… where every 77 counties voted for Trump 2016 2020 and 2024.
Hard pressed to see a MAGA hat, sign, or bumper sticker now adays…damn sure don’t see flags on the back of trucks now.

    Funny thing.

You go to South Africa, you can’t find any Afrikaners who ever supported Apartheid.

Plenty of them around who were old enough to have supported it. Wasn’t that long ago.

What are the odds all of the supporters of Apartheid passed away?

Always remember there were no Germans belonging to the Nazi party in 1945, but there were always huge rally with excited crowds in the 1930….

How many, exactly? Three? The average MAGA hasn’t got the self awareness or human decency to feel embarrassment, especially when it comes to their orange jesus.

  23. Majestic_Bet_1428 on

MAGA seems a lot quieter and a lot less in your face with Trump 2.0.

It may be working out for them the way they thought it would.

You can’t hang on to hate and rage forever without it impacting your physical and mental health.

I would be interested in knowing how many this applies to. I know for a fact that it’s not all Trump voters.

We know who you are. You make it painfully obvious every time you open your mouths. I won’t forget who you are

  27. My uncle who had a copy of the art of the deal and was a big fan of Trump before the apprentice has gone radio silent on talking politics. He’s found religion and has been re-baptized. He doesn’t talk about politics and is a total family man. Of course this is also after his wife filed for a divorce. They can deny it but they know the truth and they know their lives are miserable for supporting this POS.

Oh look, another Daily Beast article. This publication is gossipy nonsense designed to enrage all of us, just like FoxNews. They shouldn’t be taken seriously and the mods need to pull their whitelist status.

I’m old enough to remember that the same thing happened with Bush.

By 2008, so much shit (the largest terror attack in US history + two active wars started + the biggest financial meltdown since The Great Depression) had gone wrong during his two terms that it was hard to find a Republican who would admit that they voted for him.

Side note: Bush was not even invited to the 2008 Republican National Convention. That’s how much the party tried to distance themselves from him.

**Trump**: „Vote for me and I will dismantle one of the oldest democracies in the world!“

    **Voters**: „Okay!“

    **Trump**: „There, I did it!“

**Voters**: „I never voted for you!“
