Schwimmt hier jemand im Sommer? Ich suche Rat.
Ich bin gerade von Villeneuve nach Châteaux de Chillon gelaufen, um es als Sommerschwimmroute auszuprobieren.
Sieht toll aus, bis es kurz vor Chillon ärgerlicherweise einen hohen Steg gibt, mit gelben Bojen im Wasser und einem Stromsymbol darauf, eine Art elektrisch aussehendes Umspannwerk im Wasser – irgendetwas mit Wasserkraft.
Ist jemand daran vorbeigeschwommen? Wie nahe könnte man ihnen sicher kommen? Irgendein Strom im Wasser klingt für mich nach einem dummen Plan. Es gibt Schilder mit dem Hinweis, dass das Baden verboten ist, aber es gibt auch ganz nahe Treppen, über die man ins Wasser gelangen kann – aber abgesehen von den gelben Bojen gibt es keinen Hinweis darauf, wo man hingehen kann.
Auf der Chillon-Seite dieses Stegs gibt es Stufen, um ins Wasser zu gelangen, aber südlich davon gibt es außer Stufenfelsen nichts – es ist also nicht einfach, herauszukommen und herumzulaufen. Ich denke darüber nach, die Route einfach abzukürzen, bin mir aber immer noch nicht sicher, wie nahe man sicher an diesen Steg kommen könnte, bevor man umkehrt? Ich habe keine Lust, mich selbst zu braten!

It says no bathing so that you don’t get sucked in to the turbine! Electricity is generated via induction so there’s no direct connection between the water and the electric grid lol.
Anyway, look closely if there’s a bypass stream since usually not the whole flow is allowed through the turbine.
There is an electric fence in the water to keep the fish away from the water intake of the pump of the FMHL power plant in Veytaux (next to the Chateau Chillon), so at least there is electricity. You should keep away from this area, as it could have unpredictable water flows due to the power plant.

But I have no idea if you can swim around it. I don’t know the area well enough
I would also be worried about the boat traffic. The CGN passes by the Chateau pretty close. I can swim but not as fast as the CGN.
