The GOP primaries in Texas are leaning hard into the anti-muslim rhetoric. Which is ironic considering the Muslim population being more conservative on average are natural GOP voters.

Barely any Muslims there but Americans pretend like they’re Europe and overrun with Muslims.

Some of these aren’t accurate. South Dakota has only 300-400 Jews and over 500 Muslims.

This is why Missouri and Kentucky are known as “the great Jew-bridge of America”.

So the US has fewer Muslims than France or Britain?

Texas and Illinois are no surprise, given their major cities. I imagine Wisconsin and Indiana are getting Chicago’s rollover for a similar reason. The only reason NYC isn’t green is ‚cause there’s a *huge* Jewish population in NYC – the second largest population after Israel itself. Similarly, I’m guessing NJ (and possibly RI) are getting their rollovers. Florida is similar, with a massive Jewish population.
TBH, I’m a bit surprised by Oklahoma, but apparently it’s the result of the same thing as most of the rest of the south – a large number of welcoming Islamic communities, coupled with a number of blacks converting to Islam. OK also appears to be more welcoming than other, neighboring states (like Texas), resulting in Muslim families moving there.

As someone from Michigan, I didn’t know there were so many Jewish people. I thought maybe NY would be blue and that’s it. I literally have met one Jewish person in my life lol
