[Former Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland doubts the effectiveness of Canada’s trade agreement with China, saying China should not be trusted. „China today, when it talks to countries like Canada, is casting itself as the reliable partner…my own view is we need to be a little bit skeptical of commitments from China.“ „A lot of Canadians are now coming to the conclusion that Beijing can be trusted more than Washington. I agree, so many people blindly simping for Chinese EV’s and relations while ignoring every serious person in national security such as CSIS agree China is one of, if not the biggest threat

What’s her credentials on this topic? A masters degree in Ukraine’s history? Hard pass.

Ugh, I thought we exported her out of Canada.
She’s like Trudeau, can’t seem to just sit quiet somewhere. I’m just waiting for Freeland to be seen with Orlando Bloom.

Even after one Michael admitted the other Michael was a spy, and the even after Canada gave him a multi-million settlement, she is still gaslighting Canadians into believing that they were just two innocent civilians who were arrested for no reason…

Same with energy, China is cornering the market on clean energy because they need to import all their oil and we’re gonna be left in the dust because of it.

As someone who has leaned very hard into the /r/Buycanadian movement, I have to think that I’m punishing China more than the USA when I buy domestic
I’ve cut out a lot of US products to be sure, and really the only thing that is difficult to replace is some software services/social media, but when it comes to a lot of non-food daily necessities (clothing, furniture, etc) buying made in Canada actually meant not buying Chinese

What about Canadian consumers? We can finally buy affordable EVs, and cars that don’t cost 70k.

She’s not wrong, but I would be a big fan of Freedland’s gaslighting incompetent arse never saying anything to us again.

Why didn’t she say anything smart like that when she was employed by Canadians

Freeland benefits most from Canada, she was pretty much handed her inflated salary with no obligation to show up or even exist. Even if she has a point, she’s the last name I want to hear about. What a joke.
