      I hate to be morbid but it’s astonishing how long a person can survive after injuries like this, especially if the major blood vessels were cauterized somehow. Remarkably if you are close to a hospital (which this guy obviously isn’t) you can survive. I remember a case of a guy driving a forklift who fell off a bridge. The forklift landed on top of him. He lost every part of his body below his beltline, *and* his left arm, and is still alive,

      At first I thought it was legs landing behind his head. It’s his rucksack. His legs headed off NE and S, and the foot that went NE did a full circle around that tree
