I see a lot of messy, multiethnic borders here. Hasn’t anyone ever thought of redrawing these borders so that each enthnicity can enjoy their own space? /s

How is this judged exactly. How are germans and apparently most luxembourgers the same ethnic group, but slovenians and other former jugoslavs not.
Id quite like to see how the makers of this map came up with what ethnic group ought be treated as real, and which should not.

Any questions why so many Germans vote for AFD?
not_rex_again on
lol, only about 70% of germany is german. that’s a huge disaster. even if a political party comes to save them, the maximum vote they can get is 70%. in 20 years, this will probably drop below 50%, and germany will effectively be lost. and as you can see, you don’t need to invade a country just by war; you can destroy it in different ways; professionally and stealthily. gg

I appreciate rare sight of a proper Central Europe map

Is language the same as ethnicity though? It seems to me that this is first of all a map of Central Europe’s language groups. Language _is_ of course a huge element in defining a culture, but it’s not the only thing. If it was, the concept of „ethnicities“ would be redundant, no?

Can we please stop the hate and racism? People are people and nothing and no one can take that that away from them. Touch grass. Who gives a shit of how many one type people are on a planet dominated by, people.

I’m not sure if all those Austrians and Swiss people identify as German. Ethnicity is more than just language.

The random size of those pie charts is making me sad

Not being a part of a central european map hurts my Croatian sensibilities. Even though I know there are solid reasons to omit us.

What’s the source? How do you calculate ethnicities for each country?
