On the contrary Carney and the Liberals are polling so well in Alberta because of their new stance on energy and the economy. If they can actually get an oil pipeline going then the CPC is going to be in rough shape in Edmonton and Calgary.

Couldn’t read the article due to the paywall, so going by the headline. The energy MOU makes sense because it is the right thing to do for Alberta and Canada’s economy (they need to diversify away from exporting oil, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t export as much oil as they can while they still can).
The feds should also fight the referendum and its proposals on merit – it should not have anything to do with the energy MOU.

Alberta wants Canada to have the best economy in the G7. It is working towards doubling non-US exports, building AI infrastructure, and allowing Canada to maintain sovereignty over our data. These are concessions?
Alberta is the number one destination for Canadians to move to and shows what a forward thinking Canada could actually accomplish. Imagine Canada without declining living standards? Instead many Canadians seem to envision a broken Canada which makes the case for an independent Alberta.
