    Heute vor vier Jahren begann die russische Invasion in der Ukraine, die zu massiven militärischen und zivilen Opfern, weitreichenden Zerstörungen von Städten und Millionen von Flüchtlingen führte und den größten und folgenreichsten europäischen Krieg seit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg markierte.

      Very optimistic current numbers for Ukraine. Half of these numbers have probably gone AWOL

      Would have been cool if Ukraine would have just allowed crimea and dunbas to rejoin Russia like they promised they would. Could have avoided the while thing.

      The only reason Russia did this was to put military stress on the EU and weaken NATO. Trump knew this was coming, and the Russian troll farms manipulated American conservatives to believing in Ukraine’s culpability

      Ukraine has defied the odds. Who would have thought that Russia, a nuclear power with one of the largest militaries on earth, would be four years in and only occupying 25% of the country? It’s almost comical how badly they fucked this up. In just a few months, they killed their reputation as a powerhouse. Russia is a lesson of what happens when you let corruption run amok.

      So wasteful and tragic . Thousands of lives have been lost because Putin is still delusional about rebuilding the Soviet Union. Thousands of Russians are dead for for land that Russia has rendered uninhabitable. I hope there is a deal that freezes the frontlines and allow Ukraine to rebuild. there won’t be a decisive “victory” in the traditional sense, Russia has invested to much to walk away.

      Should just have multiple drone factories working 24/7 that load on to trains that go to the front lines and remotely unleash and target russian forces. Just wipe them out even take part of russia for the cost.

      I knew the line was pretty static after 2023 but turns out it has slightly moved west. At this pace Russia will need about 300 years and a billion people to get all of Ukraine.

      We like to think we’re so evolved..but we’re still stuck in the tribal stage on so many levels. Greed and our competitive instincts, was once important survival traits, but will now become our downfall.

      And yet Russia is still nowhere close to its goal. By this time in WWII, Russia was at the gates of Berlin.

      How does one obtain the statistics for this?

      Because at one point Ukraine said it needed 500k more troops, and now The Times says it needs another 250k to stabilize the frontline. So I guess one of the conditions to do so is to have the same manpower.
