  1. **From Reuters:**

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Tuesday she is considering legal action following a comment by tech billionaire Elon Musk, the ‌world’s richest man, that alleged she was connected to drug cartels.

Musk’s post on X ‌followed the capture and killing of Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) leader Nemesio Oseguera, „El Mencho“, by Mexican security forces.

In the post, Musk responded to a 2025 video of Sheinbaum discussing cartel violence and alleged that she was „saying what her cartel bosses tell her to say.“ He did not provide further evidence.

People who actually follow through with legal action tend not to talk about it in public first.

Musk is a manipulative gaslighting narcissistic asshole who stole all our private information using DOGE.

Nothing he says should be trusted ***EVER.***

Trump recently pardoned a former Honduran president who actually was involved with drug cartels.

Dude’s got billions and he’s still inserting himself here. Just go relax on a beach already.

  6. I mean…its a fairly well known fact that the cartels continue to operate with near impunity for „reasons“. Not saying her directly, but there is LOTS of corruption in the Mexican police force/military. If the country wanted to wipe out the cartels, trust me…they could. And the US also could.

  7. Same guy who got Trump to „investigate“ Fort Knox because a random Twitter post asked „is the gold still there?“

  8. Why Elon Musk thinks the world cares about his opinion on everything in the news is astounding. That, and there is no subject he is not an expert in.

Can we be clear. It’s American guns and American drug consumption that is driving this. Mexico is playing the price.

  10. Wow this is a terribly worded headline that makes Musk sound like a credible source

I mean the cartels have killed dozens of politicians and mayor’s in Mexico. Presidents have been known to tip toe around cartels too.

We don’t know the extent of the current presidents relationship to the cartel. Cartels have a lot of power and influence in Mexico that they have to work around it since there is corruption and influence

Elon Musk has tried to inject himself into every major story online for the last ten years. People need to ignore him when he’s not relevant to a topic. For example, when he tried to talk about fire fighting strategy during the palisades fire beside having no expertise or experience and the media covered it like a legitimate input

  13. Maybe he is right. But he lost any sense of credibility now so who fkn cares

  14. Damn, as a mexican i never thought the one guy saying what all of us knew, would be elon musk.

Broken clock twice a day and you know, all of that

The Mexican government in bed with drug cartels? Surely that has never happened and never will

If he wants to point out corrupt politicians, I know somewhere closer to home that he can look.

Ummm yeah we know that, it’s been like that for years…. Fuck Mexico, what we want is for the United States of America to prosecute all these pedophile that are getting away with crimes in the government

  18. Uncle_Paul_Hargis on

I know it’s super popular to hate everything Elon Musk does/says… but is it crazy to speculate that many many high ranking officials in the Mexican government are linked to cartels? Including and not limited to the President?
