Wohlhabende Ehepartner verstecken in Scheidungsfällen Krypto-Vermögenswerte, sagen Anwälte

Lawyers say they are having to grapple with divorcing spouses hiding their crypto holdings when a court tries to divide up their assets, making settlements more difficult.

One family lawyer, who wished to remain anonymous to discuss a case they had acted in, said their client’s wife suspected her husband had hidden some crypto assets based on handwritten notes she had found containing long numbers.

The wife obtained disclosure and freezing orders from the court against the husband and a crypto exchange, which forced him to reveal that he did in fact have crypto assets.
