Trump is frustrated because he can’t just attack Iran once and be done with it. i.e.
>Unlike previous targeted operations, including the recent one removing Venezuelan leader from power, Mr. Trump has been told that any strike on Tehran’s assets would almost certainly not be a singular, decisive blow. Instead, limited strikes could open the door to a wider confrontation — one that risks drawing the United States into a protracted conflict in the Middle East.
There are consequences, long-term.. and Trump is allergic to responsibilty or facing consequences. So what is a malignant narcissist who can’t accept the consequences of his actions to do? Usually it’s rage, denial, and finding someone to abuse to feel in control again.

>even carefully calibrated strikes can produce unpredictable consequences.
That may be so, but if there are no strikes, we can comfortably predict that the Islamic Republic will continue murdering thousands of innocent people, torturing and raping people in prison, oppressing the people of Iran, attacking our allies and funding terrorism around the world. A military intervention is risky and may have unpredictable consequences but if successful, it will end the Islamic Republic’s reign of terror and all the death, destruction and suffering that comes with it.

„At the heart of the president’s impatience is a desire for a forceful action that would reset the diplomatic table. He has pressed advisers for options that would deliver a punishing strike — one substantial enough, in his view, to compel Iranian leaders to return to negotiations under more favorable terms for Washington.“
Sounds like hes pushing for a nuke

Wouldn’t it make the most sense to cripple leadership and then infrastructure so that the regime can’t coordinate against the millions of protesters? But I guess the administration is second guessing regime change and Trump prefers a strike for a favorable negotiating position as the article explains. Disappointing but not surprising.

What Trump fails to realize time and again is the President of the United States isn’t All-powerful. That was the whole fucking point of the USA and the system of Checks and Balances that were put in place.
I don’t think I will ever take another republican/conservative politically seriously for the rest of my life for the simple fact that this is the guy they wanted in office and have essentially admitted that the actual Constitution and foundations of this country really doesn’t mean shit to them. But they sure want to act like it does.

After losing the Supreme Court decision on tariffs, Trump can’t apply International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). Could he be considering starting a war just so he could use that as an excuse?

„Trump is „curious“ about why Iranians „haven’t capitulated.“
„Why, under this sort of pressure, with the amount of sea power, naval power that we have over there, why they haven’t come to us and said, ‚We profess that we don’t want to be — we don’t want a weapon. So, here’s what we’re prepared to do.‘ And yet, it’s hard to sort of get them to that place,“ Witkoff said.“

I have no doubt he just wants to bomb them harder and bigger and intimidate his enemy. So if he is being told that the enemy won’t negotiate under any circumstances he will naturally ask about bigger attacks, bigger bombs. Nukes.
I’m sure he has asked and wants nukes used and at this point I’m horrified that I don’t think there aren’t enough sane people left to tell him no. We may actually see it happen, starting with testing the waters with small tactical „bigger bomb“ thinking.
