It’s not Sunni Islam in Tunceli (a province in Turkey). It’s Alevism. It’s an Islamic sect that is closer to Shia Islam compared to Sunni Islam but it’s not Shia either

Is it just me, or did these sorts of maps generally depict Vietnam as a Buddhist-majority country before a few years ago?

Protestantism has had a monumental rise in Latin America, I wouldn’t be surprised if the map is underselling regions like Central America or parts of Brazil where its grown persistently.

  5. Wait, Canada is Catholic majority? I guess it’s probably the French minorities correct me if I’m wrong

  6. A few things to update:

    * Some places in South America (e.g. Acre and Rondonia, and I’m sure other parts of other countries) are now more Protestant than Catholic. Likewise Catholics only just outnumber Protestants in Belize as a whole so I’m sure at least one of the districts is more Protestant
    * Gambela (Ethiopia) is now 70% Protestant as of 2007, not Orthodox anymore
    * Arunachal Pradesh state in India has been plurality Christian since 2011, although I’m not sure what the split here is by denomination
