Common horror story you hear about contractors.
They show up for a 6 year contract with a good salary, meet a cute girl, get married and fight like hell to get the contract renewed only to be told sorry. Time to find a new job or move onto the next spot with less competition.
Wife doesn’t want to follow, husband heads out to the next location, wife says she’ll be right behind him, files the divorce then finds husband #2, 3, 4, etc.
The ones that stay together are either situation where husband gets a japanese job, quits his high earning job or retires just in time.

I keep being thankful I skipped Japan and went straight to Indonesia.
Seriously it’s disheartening. Out of Japan came all these fantastic stories of love, bravery, heroism and despair but when you look at the society it’s super disappointing.
