This is exactly the kind of power vacuum situation that people underestimate. When a major cartel figure is killed, it doesn’t automatically mean stability sometimes it creates even more chaos.
Rival factions move in, internal splits happen, and civilians end up caught in the middle. Burning cars, blocking highways, attacking businesses it’s a show of force, but it’s also a reminder of how deeply entrenched these groups are.
The bigger question is whether this weakens organized crime long-term or just reshuffles who’s in charge.
So a literal war on drugs?
It will be interesting to see what happens in the long term. I will remind people that reporting may not represent the reality on the ground.
Reports from right wing and Mexican Twitter users say that Sheinbaum has now fled to a MX Navy ship offshore. How valid those reports are, I can’t say. But what I’m certain of is that this isn’t over. These evil fuckers aren’t just out for revenge this time. Based on the footage… I think they might be trying to stage a coup.
Pray for Mexico, folks. None of their civillians deserve whatever this madness will become.
Reuters is just posting this now?? It’s over 12 hrs old

Hey ice, why don’t you go don’t there and set some order as you claim you do. Let’s see what you got. 😝 /s
Come on Mexico, give them hell, stop living in fear of them.
