Im no fan of Leo but eulogising that lad is just in poor taste. Theres lots of times the shinners let the mask slips that they’re still not done praising the IRA which is beyond sick.

He’s a generational hater. Just in it for the love of the game at this point.

Nope im with Leo. We should not glorify terrorist filth who bombed civillian buildings.

Everyone’s still tweeting away on the old fascist, child porn generating, American propaganda machine then ya?

    5. Great to see all the historical context and understanding being displayed in this post by folk who didn’t fucking live in the north during a dirty war.

Need to move on. If a united ireland is to be done. The a new sheet is needed. A new fag and antium etc for all to get behind. Out with the old and in with the new. No disrespect indeeded

    7. Love that this sub for the most part is actually not condoning terrorist acts. Regardless of whether you lived in the North or not, terrorists are terrorists, no matter what side they’re on.

The irony she’s using the term ‚comrade‘ here is fucking wild given their recent stance on funding for Ukraine.

There was alot of things done in the struggle for irish freedom that were war crimes and also many things happened in the period dubbed the troubles but they happened on both sides and if you think that a war crime was committed you should bring it to the appropriate war court not an ordinary court.

Also, on Bik McFarlane, it is misleading to just mention him being jailed and not mentioning what else he did.

    11. The IRA are often judged in a vacuum by people who espouse terrorism but are fine with glossing over violence and atrocities committed when they are committed by those in a state uniform. But as time goes on I’ve become a bit disillusioned with the dressing up of what a lot of the IRA done, and the idea that every member was a hero or freedom fighter in spite of the heinous things they done. I grew up in a *very* Republican family, the stuff about „not everything that was done was right“ has always felt a bit of a cop out if you are still upholding the people who done these things as heroes. If McFarlane was anything but Irish we’d all think fuck him, he was involved in the murder of civilians and directly shot 3 himself, he deserves nothing but to rot. But he’s a hero because he done it for the IRA and Ireland

    12. Never heard him hold the British up to the same standards. But he is a West Brit afterall.

Leo and his crowd have their annual Wankathon over one of the biggest Killers in our History, Michael Collins. Of course he’s one of those ‚Good‘ type of Killer.

Typical Middle Class Dublin attitude from Leo.

    14. I’m not going to celebrate, memorialise or eulogise someone that took part in terrorist attacks that murdered or injured civilians.

I don’t care who they are, be they Russian, Brits, Irish, or whoever else.

I agree with Leo that there’s a pretty glaring double standard from SF when it comes to who is justified in their actions and who isn’t.

    15. Her COMRADE, the convicted bomber who killed five people… And SF want us to believe that they have left terrorism behind…
