We already burned bridges with Russia and many EU countries are fucking with China as well these days. Cross USA of the list as well and we’re headed for some interesting times.
Maybe we’d actually get our shit together though, or not. Who knows.

What does a trade deal even mean when one side doesn’t intend to follow that deal or follow international laws in general, and that they are implicated in the Epstein files of raping children?
Edit: I should have included that Trump also doesn’t follow domestic laws, orders from the judicial branch of government, or the constitution. Why would any country believe that he will not violate trade agreements when he won’t stop violating their constitution?

This should keep Trump and his administration very busy for a period of time. After the Supreme Court ruled Trumps tariffs illegal they now have to make new trade agreements, pay back the money they stole, and give back the gifts Trump got from countries who feared these tariffs.

lol. Mark Carney continuing to look like a goddamn genius. Non-American countries take note.

Trump will create more chaos just to appear victorious and satisfy his ego even if he had to drag US down .

If he breaks the deal, then it’s null.and void. He has a habit for doing that btw. Can’t trust Trump and the Yanks in general.

The token conservatives on CBC’s Power & Politics tend to bloviate on Carney needing to „do what Canadians elected him to do and get a trade deal done with the US.“ Every day of Trump 2.0 demonstrates how hollow and non-credible any of those complaints are when we are all pretty clearly playing for time and stalling until this rapist pedophile insurrectionist is gone in one way or another. It’s always been disingenuous and the tories here have fuck all to campaign on and actually offer as the official opposition. Reaching an „agreement“ any time in the last year would have still been as worthless as the original CUSMA which he unilaterally tore up over jack shit nonsense untenable legal arguments, and equally as useless as any „deal“ other countries think they’ve made with this meth head con man.
If anything, I wonder how the ruling might have gone if Canada had capitulated for a lousy new trade deal and legitimized this bullshit like every other country cowardly chose to. We wouldn’t have considering CUSMA’s review doesn’t work like that but then again nothing the US does now makes rational sense unless your name is Vladimir Putin.
Anyway, thanks a lot.

These days I’m reminded more and more of Ernest Hemmingway’s famous line:
„How did you go bankrupt?“
„Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly“
The US will be fine for a while, but once confidence collapses, it can all happen very quick.

You can’t have trade with someone who’s opinion changes more than the weather. Unfortunately it appears he wants to take more from the American people and hurt them. Any country that helps that is monstrous.

Way to shoot ourselves in the leg if we do that.
