    1. Trump admitted a month ago that he wanted Greenland for his ego. He said it himself. Trump said he wanted to own Greenland „Because it’s psychologically important for me.“ Everything Trump does is to feed his ego. He’s a narcissist.

Raise your hand if you’re surprised.

      Nobody? Thought so.

So 90 days before the mid-terms every GOP representative will be forced to actually vote on tariffs.

      Delightful.

By then Trump’s toddler tantrum will probably have global tariffs at 40% – just what the GOP want to sign their name to as part of their re-election campaigns.

    4. For the life of me, I will never understand why Trump is so obsessed with tariffs. For some reason, he can’t let it go.

Now if we only applied this domestically in place of our corporate taxes, completely exempted exports from taxation, and allowed deductions for investment and business expenses

We could even call it something cool, like a destination-based cash flow tax

This is illegal.  Has has no other law that will allow him to have tariffs like this.
Everyone needs to refuse to pay the fake tariffs.  Clog the ports and airports until the agents follow the law.

The tariffs were used in the budget (BB Bill) to reduce what would be shown as deficit increases due to tax breaks for the rich & corporations. So does the budget get revamped?

It’s worth noting the tariff rule is using exacerbated the Great Depression.

    9. Well, he’s going to need Congressional compliance. The section he’s invoking to do this requires Congress to approve it within three months or something. So call your Congress peeps *now*, and keep your eye on them to see who votes for it.

Tariffs are paid for by the purchase of goods from foreign countries and suppliers. By the consumer who eventually buys the products. The only person who’s getting hurt is the consumer. Not the country where the goods are produced from.

At this point, Congressional Republicans have to realize that they have pissed off a large portion of their own voter base, and that a lot of seats that were arguably considered safe in non-battleground states are now likely to flip. Do they really think they can manipulate votes across every single district in the nation? Even if they are able to do a few districts in a few swing states, the „safe“ states could very likely flip.

The man does this to everything.
Its no surprise he’s doing it now.
He will squeeze a rock just to charge it for not bleeding.

    13. The ore I think about it, the more I feel that from what I read, IF there is any redistribution of the tariff money, it will go to the companies. They raised prices and we paid them, then they will get the money, essentially getting to double-dip in profit.

    14. Genuine question, will the US government have to refund any of the money from the now illegal tax?
