Too many people came at once and from a single part of India, it’s not possible for everyone to stay, but I do feel for them, the Trudeau government used these people to boost the economy, this man was horrible.

This program had long been abused by the government to float corporate profits. Used by both sides of the aisle the temporary foreign workers program has created wage slaves and artificially suppressed local wages.
Unable to change employers as the person sponsored was only allowed to work for 1 place they were deeply abused and unable to fight for themselves or be sent home. There have been large increases in the numbers allowed for sometime and this a much needed reduction.
As far as I’m aware real immigration stay similar and we continue to look for skilled workers everywhere

So between early 2022 and oct 2024, temporary resident population grew by 1.8 mn. Did Canada buy new printing press to issue so many visas?
Most migrants were shown a path to PR. Now the doors are being shut to this path. It would be better if existing migrants are still allowed access to path to PR and no new visas issued.
Canada did make money out of diploma mills.
