Lots of stuff the “church” takes under their purview that has ZERO basis in the Bible.

That’s because they aren’t. Homosexuality and abortifacient were widely known at the time and Jesus said nothing about them. I wonder why…

Fun fact. 7 out of 10 of the Ten Commandments are not about how to conduct oneself through life, but rather how and why to worship God.

The Bible contains instructions for inducing an abortion

Abortion is in the bible. There’s a recipie for how to make an abortion drink. That’s supposed to know if the mother has been unfaithful or not. If she drinks it and has a miscarriage. Then the father was not her husband. Of course it doesn’t actually work like that, it just produces a miscarriage about 20% of the time.

There are a few mentions of forcing a woman to miscarriage, iirc.

It’s not a claim. They’re not mentioned in the bible, period.

Numbers 5:24-27 „If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse among her people.“
God performs abortions himself

What about Numbers 5:11-31 and the sotah ritual?
Kinda sounds like an abortion might be the outcome.
Not a biblical scholar. So idk the official stance on this passage.

They aren’t. He has a far better point on abortion since life at conception is a fairly new theological position in Chirtianity, being around 200 years old as a mainstream idea.
Gay marriage has is more „not mentioned“ in the same way that airplanes aren’t.
