Is there anything positive happening on the Internet right now?

This seems like a win to me. When I look at a map I want a map, not a social media hub for bored people to bitch about tacos.

I deleted it and use organic maps

Google went from ‚Do not Evil‘ to nothing but evil.

So, what’s new?
Google Maps should be made public. It was built on the coat tails of US tax dollars (GPS), so why are we paying (yes we pay, don’t be stupid) for it?
yes, they invested a lot, and that’s been repaid with billions in profit a long time ago.
Give it to the people.

Just stop fucking using Google Maps. Apple Maps is already a smoother and better experience. It might not have all the reviews you need but the app is just simply superior and not ad-ridden

Whatever shall I do without staff-written 5 star reviews, and also the 1 star ones left by people trying to score free food?

I just wish I could go to a website without a message from Google telling me to register with my Google account.

Cool, how bout they focus on fixing their core app functionality instead of doing shit like this and changing button colors & font sizes every few months.

I just want directions not reviews and never sign in so I‘m okay with that.

I started using Apple Maps when I got my iPhone. I uninstalled Google Maps.

Half expecting map points to come back, those were fun in the rave days but not sure it makes for a good app. „You’re almost there, and now that we know your identity here’s the directions to the final location“ lol

Everything is going this way. I can’t see more than a handful of reviews on Amazon now unless I am signed in. Search for a particular keyword in the reviews? Here’s an excerpt of the sentence that contains it, now please sign in so we can track your product views more easily.

Amazon hides reviews if you aren’t logged in as well. Thanks I hate it.

Ok, but why would I not want to sign in?

Google Maps displaying a sponsored link to an entirely different destination of a competitor business as the first hit, when clicking through from a Google Calendar appointment location link and having the correct destination being the second on the list made me very late and extremely narked off this week.

YouTube telling me the fourth time today to sign in so it can scrape more data.

I don’t care. I use maps to get from point a to point b.
