At this point I’m not even sure why Canada is wasting time making fun of Trump. They should be going full steam ahead with realizing trade deals, etc with China. Just commit and go full China.

I’ll ship Donnie a tube of lotion for that burn.

Like if Canada can import cars from China and there’s only a 10% tariff update on anything going forward that means I can get a fully paid Chinese car driving it into the US for 10% tax?

„Mr. Trump, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.“

I get the sentiment but would rather we shut up as a province and focus on progress and diversification instead of sinking to their level

Because SCOTUS ruled the US tariffs against the world are illegal, now what? Are the tariffs basically over now??

Let’s not celebrate yet, as the individual in question already said he has many ways of keeping tariffs in place and, as expected, rulings don’t apply to him

He has a lot more credibility than Carney, who basically admitted at Davos that Canada was happy to benefit from the immoral world economic order until Trump tore it apart. Canada has tons of other voices and should be using them, Carney’s focus on recreating the same exploitative world economic system without the US will not be thought well of by history. Carney can say Trump is gross and being mean to international capital, but other Canadian leaders can say Trump is dangerous and that ordinary families deserve our protection more than the old immoral world economic order does.

Eby just delivered a very unpopular budget. I bet he’d love for people to shift gears and focus on this comment.
