This is really clean. The Sankey works well here because you actually feel the drop off from showmance to long term.
The 68 to 7 married stat is kind of wild when you see it visually. I also like that you included “still dating” instead of forcing everything into success or failure.
Only small nit is the dark background plus thin flows makes some of the lighter paths a bit hard to track on mobile. But overall this is a great way to show how brutal the survival rate actually is.
This is an incredibly detailed Sankey diagram. Mapping 27 seasons of data into such a cohesive flow is no small feat. I especially like the ‚Big Number‘ callouts at the bottom—it provides a great macro-level summary of the survival rate of these relationships. The aesthetic and the data density are perfectly balanced here!
